Irish Farmers produce some of the finest food in the world. Our agricultural and fishing industries have continued to struggle due to failures by successive governments to defend the rights of our farmers and agree fair quotas for our fishermen.

Despite the fact that our farming sector is among the greenest and cleanest in the world producing negligible carbon emissions, many in the farming industry feel they are being held responsible for some future climate catastrophe, despite the fact that they and their livestock and their industry as a whole can have little impact when compared to the ever increasing global emissions of countries like the United States, India and China. Independent Ireland fully supports Irish agriculture and will push back against illogical targets and EU overreach. Independent Ireland will work for for a fairer deal for our farmers and fishermen and complete a full review of current quotas, oppose any national herd cull and complete a full cost benefit analysis of the practicalities of net zero policies.
